He grew up In a middle class family, attending a series of six preparatory schools whilst completing his education. He was best known for his poetry but also a lecturer and novelist. Over Graves lifetime he wrote more than 140 works. These works basically incorporated all his horrific and magnificent experiences of the war. The reader, to whom the poem is addressed, is one who would read songs of War and only hear of blood and fame, rather than a soldier actually involved in the fighting. In the second line of the poem, Graves introduces for the first time the word blood which is a unifying theme throughout the poem. In the first stanza, the poet connects the fame of war with blood, and the glory of war with the lust of blood. This underlying message conveyed by the poem is reinforced in the third line where Graves responds to the reader by speaking two direct observations. First, Graves introduces to the reader a first general contradiction, which is that, contrary to the songs of War, war is in fact Hell, which is nothing to sing about. The reader has heard this said before, but still reads the songs. In the first two lines of this stanza, the poet describes the place where he discovered his cure. Graves use of the word shattered conveys a scene of nature destroyed; the phrase great mess speaks of a place of disorder and chaos; and the words things unclean speak of something repugnant and almost immoral. In that unnatural setting, Graves found a dead Bocce, which is a word that is today an archaism but which still conveys the impersonal and diminishing descriptions which were given to the enemy. However, in this case, the poet forces the reader to go beyond the victory of an enemy defeated, and to examine the actual victim. the end of the first and third lines of each stanza rhyming; the words at the end of the second and fourth lines of each stanza also rhyming; and the words at the end of he fifth and sixth lines of each stanza rhyming.

The main female characters of these movies are the women who want to feel their freedom of feelings, expressions, emotions, and attitudes, and who can make decisions without references to the traditional norms and customs only because of the fact they are women. Thus, their intentions to acquire and realize their personal freedom in spite of the traditional social visions reflect the main tendencies of the second wave of feminism. If the feminists of the first wave concentrated on their legal rights and freedoms, the feminists of the second wave accentuated their roles in the society as individuals who are equal with men in their expression of the definite personal feelings and emotions and in their free attitude to relationships in family and to the sex. From this point, the feminists of the second wave began to discuss the feeling o f love as the multidimensional phenomenon which cannot be regulated by any social visions of the questions, but only by the personal attitude. Thus, in his Together, Lukas Moodysson concentrates on the depiction of a woman with the variety of her feelings which are based on the feeling of love. This love can be parental or sexual, reflect the attitudes to the husband or relatives, to the children and friends. In this case, women in Together try to state their freedom to feel and express those emotions they want to focus on without concentrating on their gender. These women are seeking for their personal and emotional image. Thus, Anna discovers that she is a lesbian, and she does not want to hide this fact as she does not want to hide her body under the clothes which is too tight for her. There is an interesting situation when Anna argues that she can behave as it is comfortable for her, and it is her right to decide to wear or not the clothes in order to hide her nakedness (â€Å" Together†). China will be the next global superpower - Research Paper Example Defining a Superpower When we look at the generic use of the term ‘super power’, the term refers to those selective states with power. Power in this perspective is defined by a series of prominent variables put together. These could be economic wealth, population size, military strength, and the possession of sophisticated nuclear armaments. Alice Lyman Miller, a professor at the National Security Affairs at the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School defines a super power in the following words â€Å"a country that has the capacity to project dominating power and influence anywhere in the world, and sometimes, in more than one region of the globe at a time." A super power comprises of four components that are dominant over all other qualifying elements; Military, economic, political and cultural. Hegemony, a Greek term for leadership plays a critical role in paving way for this supremacy. It is the ability to dictate policies of other nations. If we look back towards Roman and British empires this feat was accomplished by brute force. Germany attempted to benefit from it in the late 1930s and Russia’s efforts to work at it never really succeeded in the global sense. China however is often looked upon as regionally hegemonic. The U.S. achieved hegemony not just through sheer military might but through economic, political and cultural influence – factors that many perceive are diminishing now. A few years back, the presidential hopeful Ron Paul echoed what many analysts perceive: The "dollar hegemony" — U.S. currency's strength and attractiveness —  has been a key factor in U.S. dominance, but "our dollar dominance is coming to an end." And China has become a great power in a "spectacular" rise over the past two decades (Miller). China China is one of the earliest recorded human settlements in the world with nearly 4000 years of continuous history. It covers an Area of 16,800 square kilometers and has a population of about $1.3 7 billion. It is a communist state and its GDP is about $ 4.99 Trillion. Its currency is the Yuan and the capital of China is Beijing (China facts, web). China's population of 1.3 billion renders it the most populous nation on earth, accounting for a fifth of the world's population; while at almost 10 million square kilometers it is the third largest country after Russia and Canada. Its 2.25 million troops form the world's largest armed force. China's reputation as a major military power is crowned by the possession of nuclear weapons that are capable of all ranges and delivery modes. Economically, it is the world's fourth largest trading nation, having risen from 32nd  in 1978 and 10th  in 1997. Its GDP at 13% of world output (at purchasing power parity) is second to the US. A healthy employee is able to do more and feel well enough to enjoy it. We strive to do our best but how can we when we have low morale at the office.
